Install Technician / Tower Technician

 

Hours

Part Time, 20-40 hrs/wk, flexible schedule, some evenings/weekends, hours will vary with available work.

 

Job Description – Install Technician

Arrive at customer location on time with a professional appearance and friendly demeanor.
Evaluate customer site to determine suitability for service, explain options and advise customer.
Complete paperwork to sign customer up for service.
Install required equipment and cabling to provide service to customer in residential environment, including accessing roof and crawl space of building as necessary.
Complete install with top quality workmanship and clean up job site.
Assist customer in connecting devices to service including PC and Mac computers, other WiFi devices including game consoles, tablets, smartphones, etc.
Troubleshoot and repair problems at existing customer locations.
Maintain personal stock of parts.
Assist with other tasks as assigned.

 

Required Equipment - Employee must provide the following for their own use:
Standard tools including cordless drill and bits, hand tools
Smart Phone with data plan and good coverage in our service areas

 

Skills / Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to use the following hand tools: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, fish tape/rods.
Ability to consistently produce work that is visually appealing and impresses the customer.
Ability to complete documentation accurately.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (such as safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of that equipment.
Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder, (approx. 32 ft high and 90 pounds).
Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires.
Ability to perform job from high and confined places (i.e. roofs, towers, crawl spaces).
Ability to travel (including during inclement weather) to and from assigned jobs and company facilities.
Ability to work outside for extended periods in any season and/or during inclement weather.
Able to work at heights comfortably, no fear of heights.
Familiarity with computer operating systems, home networking, and other consumer and commercial communications devices (e.g., PDAs, smartphones, routers, modems, converters, and wireless devices).
Familiarity with residential construction, particularly drilling/fishing wires through walls, floors, etc.
Familiarity with aiming antennas such as wireless Internet and satellite TV antennas.
Familiarity with terminating and testing cat5 and coax cables.
